Replacing an AGCO tractor headlight requires more than finding a lamp with a similar shape. The correct replacement must match the tractor model, OEM part number, mounting dimensions, connector, voltage and lighting functions.
AGCO’s agricultural machinery portfolio includes brands such as Fendt, Massey Ferguson and Valtra, as confirmed on the official AGCO website. Therefore, an AGCO part number may appear on a headlight fitted to a Massey Ferguson or Fendt tractor.
This guide explains how to identify a suitable AGCO tractor headlight replacement and avoid common fitment problems. Buyers can also browse our current range of LED tractor headlights for AGCO applications.
How to Identify the Correct AGCO Tractor Headlight
The original OEM part number is the best place to start. It can usually be found on the rear housing, product label, parts catalogue or previous service documentation.
However, an OEM number should not be checked alone. Before ordering, record the following information:
- Complete tractor brand and model
- Production year or serial-number range
- Original AGCO part number
- Left or right installation position
- Lamp diameter or housing dimensions
- Mounting-hole spacing and rear clearance
- Connector shape and pin arrangement
- High beam, low beam and parking-light functions
- Tractor electrical-system voltage
A photograph of the front, rear housing and connector can also help a supplier verify the replacement. This is especially important for older tractors that may have been modified or repaired with non-original lighting components.
Common AGCO Headlight OEM Numbers
Selected Fendt and Massey Ferguson tractors use 5.5-inch round headlights associated with the following AGCO part numbers:
| AGCO OEM number | Typical replacement type |
|---|---|
| 3788220M91 | 5.5-inch LED tractor headlight |
| 3788221M91 | 5.5-inch LED tractor headlight |
| 4278938M92 | 5.5-inch LED tractor headlight |
These references are used across selected Massey Ferguson 1500, 5400, 6400, 7400 and 8400 Series tractors. They are also associated with selected Fendt Vario, Farmer and Favorit models.
For applications covering both brands, the A0143 5.5-inch LED tractor headlight combines high beam, low beam and parking light in one housing. Its listed applications include multiple Fendt and Massey Ferguson tractor models together with AGCO part numbers 3788220M91, 3788221M91 and 4278938M92.
For selected Massey Ferguson applications, the A0150 LED tractor headlight covers the same three AGCO references.
An OEM number match provides a strong starting point. Nevertheless, buyers should still confirm the connector, mounting depth and tractor model before placing a batch order.

Round or Rectangular AGCO LED Headlights
A round LED headlight is generally the most suitable option when replacing an original round lamp installed in the tractor hood or front grille. A direct replacement should preserve the original high-beam, low-beam and position-light functions.
The A0150, for example, provides:
| Function | Output |
| High beam | 41W / 4000 lumens |
| Low beam | 17W / 1700 lumens |
| Parking light | 1.65W / 165 lumens |
| Voltage range | 9–32V DC |
| Protection rating | IP69K |
Its die-cast aluminum housing supports heat dissipation, while the sealed structure is designed for rain, mud, dust and high-pressure cleaning conditions.
Rectangular headlights are more suitable when the original installation uses a compact rectangular housing or when the project involves a custom mounting structure. The A0144 3×5-inch LED headlight module is intended for integrated lighting layouts, while the A0144-6 side-bracket headlight supports external or adjustable mounting.
These rectangular models should not be treated as automatic replacements for every AGCO tractor. Installation dimensions, bracket position and beam orientation must first be confirmed.

Check the Connector, Voltage and Beam Functions
Two headlights can have similar dimensions but use different connectors or wiring arrangements. Before installation, compare the number of pins and identify the connections for ground, high beam, low beam and parking light.
Do not rely only on wire colors because wiring conventions can vary between tractor models and previous repairs. Instead, confirm the pin functions using the original wiring diagram or suitable electrical testing equipment.
Voltage must also be checked. Many agricultural tractors operate on 12V or 24V systems, so a 9–32V LED headlight can support both common configurations. However, voltage compatibility does not confirm mechanical fitment or the correct connector.
In addition, buyers should distinguish between a road headlight and a work light. A work light may produce strong illumination, but its flood or spot pattern does not automatically provide a controlled passing beam. Therefore, it should not replace a road headlight unless the optical function and local requirements have been verified.
ECE and EMC Requirements
For tractors that travel on public roads, the replacement headlight may need relevant road-lighting approvals.
UN Regulation No. 149 covers headlamps that produce driving-beam and passing-beam functions. Position and signalling functions may fall under separate lighting requirements.
Electromagnetic compatibility is also important on tractors equipped with radios, cameras, displays, GPS systems and electronic control modules. The UNECE maintains the official documentation for UN Regulation No. 10 on electromagnetic compatibility.
Approval requirements vary by market, vehicle category and installation position. Therefore, distributors and OEM buyers should confirm the standards required in their destination market before approving a product.
AGCO Headlight Replacement Checklist
Before ordering an AGCO tractor headlight replacement, verify these six points:
- Match the original AGCO OEM part number.
- Confirm the complete tractor model and production range.
- Measure the lamp housing, mounting points and rear clearance.
- Compare the connector and pin functions.
- Confirm high beam, low beam and parking-light requirements.
- Check voltage, protection rating and required approvals.
For fleet replacement or wholesale purchasing, send the supplier clear photographs, dimensions, OEM references and estimated order quantity. This information reduces incorrect recommendations and makes fitment verification more reliable.

FAQ
Are AGCO headlights only used on AGCO-branded tractors?
No. AGCO part numbers can also appear on lighting components used by brands within the AGCO group, including selected Massey Ferguson and Fendt tractors.
Can a halogen AGCO tractor headlight be replaced with LED?
Yes, provided the LED replacement matches the mounting dimensions, connector, voltage, beam functions and applicable approval requirements.
Are all 5.5-inch tractor headlights interchangeable?
No. Lamps with the same nominal diameter may still have different housing depths, mounting points, connectors and beam patterns.
