Who We Are
Our website address is https://www.tuffpluslamp.com and https://www.tuffplus-autolighting.com.
Comments and User Information
When visitors leave comments on our site, we collect the data entered in the comment form. This includes the IP address and browser user-agent string, which help us detect spam.
In addition, an anonymized string created from your email address (called a hash) may be sent to the Gravatar service. You can review their privacy policy here. Once your comment is approved, your profile picture becomes publicly visible.
Media Uploads
If you upload images to the website, please avoid including geolocation data (EXIF GPS). This is because site visitors may download and extract location details from such images.
Cookies
We use cookies to improve your browsing experience. For instance, when you leave a comment, you may choose to save your name, email, and website in cookies. These cookies last for one year.
If you visit the login page, a temporary cookie checks whether your browser accepts cookies. It contains no personal data and is removed when you close your browser.
When you log in, several cookies will store your login details and display preferences. Login cookies last two days, while display preferences last for one year. Choosing “Remember me” extends the login period to two weeks.
If you log out, these cookies are automatically removed.
Additionally, if you edit or publish an article, your browser will store a cookie that remembers the post ID. This cookie expires after one day.
Embedded Content
Some articles may include embedded content like videos or images. These behave exactly as if you had visited the external websites directly.
Such websites may collect your data, use cookies, or track your interaction—especially if you’re logged in to those platforms.
Information Sharing
If you request a password reset, your IP address will be included in the reset email.
Data Retention
When you leave a comment, we retain both the comment and its metadata indefinitely. This allows the system to recognize and approve future comments automatically.
For registered users, we store the personal data in their profiles. Users can view, edit, or delete their information at any time (except the username). Site administrators can also access and modify user profiles.
Your Rights
You may request an exported file of your personal data stored on our site. Additionally, you may request the deletion of any personal data. Please note: we may retain information when required for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
Where Your Data Goes
Visitor comments are screened through an automated spam detection service.
